Not all silk scarves are created equal.
What's the #1 thing that bothers most people about a wild rag silk scarf? That the backside is pale/colorless.
Take the wild rag silk scarf test and see if yours pass! (Most don't!)
The WILD RAG TEST
- Pull out your silk scarves and look at any that have a pattern or printed design, separate them from your solid colored silk scarves.
-
Look at the top side of the printed silk scarf wild rag. It usually has a pattern or design. It can be have a rich sheen to it and often lots of wonderful color.
- Now, turn the silk over on to it's backside. An easy way to test this is to fold over half of the wild rag and compare.
-
Here's the Wild Rag Test - Do your silk scarves have the same exact color? Granted the back might be more of a matte color but just as colorful as the top. Check your scarves and see how they compare. The scarf top side and backside should be equally colored and designed.
See below is the same exact scarf. These are both the backsides of a turquoise silk wild rag with silver conchos. On the left, we made a silk scarf how most wild rag companies have them made, with 1-sided print. You can easily see how lacking in color the silk is - creating a pale backside.
Now, look to the full color 2-sided print on the right. Once again, this is the exact same scarf. See the difference of a 2-sided print on the right? It makes a huge difference. Why? Because you can wear it any way you like without the pale side showing!
Why are some wild rag silk scarves this way? Because it costs the manufacturer almost double to create a full color silk scarf.
The reason most wild rag companies take a short cut and only print on one side? Because their profits are better.
Most people agree it doesn't make a better silk scarf to use 1-sided print.
A full color silk scarf is ideal so that you don't have to worry about how to tie your wild rag, because its frustrating trying to hide a pale backside of a scarf!
At Cowtown Wild Rags, we don't take shortcuts. All of our wild rags are FULL COLOR on both sides - you can see the difference it makes having a full color backside that matches the front in the image above.
