what to look for in wild rags for sale

Are you looking for wild rags for sale? Let's chat for a moment about giving a silk scarf wild rag as a thoughtful gift. Whether giving a gift for a special holiday or a birthday, you begin to realize that the cost of a silk scarf is less than a flower bouquet delivery! Don't get me wrong, flowers are great but don't you love a gift that keeps giving?

Sure, you could go with the Kroger flowers, they're beautiful! But there's zero smell to those flowers. If you're going with flowers, go to a locally owned florist.

That's why giving the gift of western silk scarves is unique and thoughtful.

Flowers are about the same price as a silk scarf, and they give the message to your friend or loved one that you're thinking of them with a special gift.

There's something special about wearing a wild rag silk scarf. Whether you're a cowboy that rarely comes to town or you're a city cowgirl - there's much to love about wearing a western silk scarf.

When you're shopping at a retail store or shopping online, what do you look for in wild rags for sale?

  • High Quality
  • Great Craftsmanship
  • Nice Weight to the Silk (Not Too Thin!)
  • Beautiful Colors
  • Wonderful Designs

High quality includes using excellent silk with a weight of at least 12mm - here in Fort Worth, Texas I prefer a 14mm because 8-10mm can feel a bit too light in quality of weight. I want silk that's going to last! My advice - stay away from 8mm-10mm unless you're looking for an almost chiffon type silk scarf wild rag. 12mm is fine, it depends on what you prefer. Too many of the Amazon wild rags are 8mm-10mm weight. Due your due diligence when shopping.

Great craftsmanship includes - the scarf cut in a square (you'd be surprised that some a bit off!), nice even stitches that give the scarf a nice look. I prefer hand-rolled edges because it hides the stitches and gives a higher-end quality, but flat edges are good too!

Look to make sure that your wild rag has equal color on the top and bottom of the scarf. Too many wild rags have only top-sided color. Look to see before you purchase. If you're like me, it bothers you when you have a white side of the scarf showing no matter how you wear it. Some people aren't bothered by it, so decide what works for you :)

Wild Rags for Sale - Add a Pop of Color to Your Western Outfit

When you're looking for wild rags for sale do you prefer bold, vibrant colors? Or are you a muted, neutral fan? I like a mix! Silk shows the richness of color more than any other fabric. Compare a turquoise cotton cowboy bandana and a turquoise silk scarf - there's really a noticeable difference! Cotton is matte and flat and silk has a luxurious sheen to it that can not be duplicated. Some try with a polyester, but silk is premium.

There are so many favorites for western silk scarves, here's a few of my fav's:

  • Paisley prints
  • Aztec prints
  • Southwestern styles
  • Serapes
  • Jacquard style
  • Solid colors
  • Western cowboy prints
  • Cowgirls prints

The silk wild rag is always my go-to when I'm going out because of how it feels. A great wild rag cowboy scarf is a treat to wear.

  • There's nothing like silk - it's like a vacation for your neck!
  • Silk is lightweight - no choking or being too tight on your neck
  • Vibrancy of color that only silk holds
  • Versatile wear of your silk scarves
  • They're adjustable - tie 'em where you want 'em

But that's not the only reason people want a wild rag cowboy scarf - often it's emotional.

  • You have a love for the West and western clothing
  • Wearing silk makes you feel good
  • A gift you received when someone was thinking of you
  • A gift you give - one that will last many, many years more than flowers

What are your favorites when you're looking for wild rags for sale? Do you have favorite colors and patterns? What are your favorite combinations? I love turquoise! It's one of my favorite colors in a wild rag, I especially love it with earth tones. After we lived in Pagosa Springs, CO for 8 years, I have a real fondness for the earth tone palette colors found in the scenic area with blues, turquoise, teal, adobe, sienna, mahogany, terra cotta - so many beautiful colors in the West!

What are your favorite color combinations? What are your favorite patterns or styles? Please share :) We'd love to hear your favorites colors/designs. If you have a color combo or design, you'd love to see - feel free to share it too!!
