Make sure if you're using one of your own wild rags that it's at least 36" so it doesn't bother you being too tight at the neck - unless you have a smaller neck.

Steps to Tying a Cowboy Scarf

1. Fold your Western silk scarf in half, forming a triangle.
2. Roll and inch down on the larger end if you want a small cowboy scarf hanging down. If you prefer a large silk scarf, don't make the roll shown in the video.
3. Take the scarf around your neck, with the point hanging in the front. 
4. Take the ends of the wild rag around the back of the scarf, bringing them around to the front. 
   
5. Now, start the buckaroo knot by switching places with the two ends, and switch them again. 
6. Take your finger up to where the two ends intersect on the scarf and wrap one end of the scarf around that finger. 
7. Take the silk scarf up toward your neck and pull it down, much as you would a men's tie.
8. Lock that hanging end with your thumb over to one side. 
9. Go over the top of the hand and pick up the loose end of the scarf. 
10. Now, wedge the loose end through the wild rag wrapped around your finger. The finger has created a little tunnel for that end to go through. 
11. Pull that end tight and adjust your cowboy scarf wild rag. Congrats for tying a cowboy scarf the cowboy way!
